The Starr Report
By Michael Starr
November 15, 2004 -- He's no average Joe
It's a busy time for Joe Piscopo. Not only is he guest- starring on Wednesday's "Law & Order," but he and wife Kimberly are expecting another child at the end of this month. On top of that, a bigger and better version of Joe's annual Positive Impact Benefit takes places Jan. 22 at Caesar's in Atlantic City with a glittering roster of A- list talent including the Blues Brothers (Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd).
"The foundation benefits at- risk kids and helps them see all the good things that bad kids are suppos edly doing," Pis copo says. "We're doing good things in underprivileged areas. I reached out to Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd and I'm going to reach out to Chevy Chase, Adam Sandler, Don Novello and Dana Carvey. Eddie Murphy helped out by sending a very nice donation. It's gonna be a real 'Saturday Night Live' night."
Joe's "Law & Order" ap pearance Wednesday (10 p.m./Ch. 4) marks his third time guest-starring on the NBC series. "I play a Steven Segal-type character named Jaret Whitestone. He's an ac tion-movie star who gets on the wrong side of the tracks and is suspected of killing someone," he says. "They've got me running off to a mon astery in Mongolia and then I have to come back and give a deposition."
On Thursday, Joe will be at Toys R Us in Times Square to promote the Trivial Pursuit "Saturday Night Live" edition DVD for Hasbro.
